What we collect
On the public stream at watchwhilehigh.org, we collect basic analytics data: viewer counts, chat messages you send, and engagement signals like likes. This data is used to improve the stream and inform content curation. It is not sold or shared with third parties.
If you submit content to the stream, we collect the information you provide in the submission form (name, email, video link, and description). This is used solely to review your submission and get back to you.
Chat messages
Chat messages sent on watchwhilehigh.org are stored in our database along with the username you chose and a timestamp. We use this data to measure engagement and inform curation decisions. Chat is public — don't send anything you wouldn't say in a room full of strangers.
Cookies and tracking
We use minimal cookies required for site functionality. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. We do not use Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel. Basic server logs (IP address, browser, page visited) are retained for up to 30 days for security purposes.
Third-party platforms
The stream also runs on YouTube and Twitch. Those platforms have their own privacy policies and data practices that are outside our control. If you're watching on YouTube or Twitch, their terms apply to your session on those platforms.
Data retention and deletion
Submission data is retained for as long as needed to process and respond to your submission. Chat messages are retained indefinitely as part of the stream record. If you want any data associated with you removed, use the feedback form and we'll handle it within 7 days.
